Our Mission

To return DIGNITY to the Disabled and Disadvantaged through skills training and instilling a sense of passion in vocation.

Skills Training & Job Placement for Differently Abled Persons

Dignity Kitchen Hong Kong conducts formal training in food preparation and cooking for Differently Abled Persons with special needs. Our trainees come to us from different social backgrounds and age groups. They are challenged both physically and intellectually but with the training and guidance they receive, they are able to re-integrate in society as productive individuals able to work at steady permanent jobs rather than rely on handouts and donations.

More than 100 have graduated in the last 3 years. Besides working at Dignity Kitchen, we have placed our graduates in jobs at Hyatt Shatin, Sheraton at Four Points and cafes in Hong Kong.

Each course takes up to 8 weeks covering culinary skills, safety & hygiene practices and customer engagement and costs up to $20,000 for each trainee.

The cost is covered by scholarships donated by corporations and companies in Hong Kong.

Lunch Treat For the Elderly (LTFE)

1 in 5 people in Hong Kong are above 65 years old.

Many of them do not have the choice of a healthy active lifestyle. They either live alone, in hospices or care facilities and lead a socially inactive life that is detrimental to their mental and physical well-being.

Our LTFE outreach program conducted Dignity Kitchen Hong Kong is organized with the support of NGOs and social welfare organisations provides the communal enjoyment of a meal together and social activities like karaoke, arts & crafts, makeovers and even exercise programs for healthy living.

Each event costs $6,000 for 20 elderlies and every month we have at least 2 events. We target to double these events in 2022.

Pay it forward

In 2022, our target is to distribute at least 50,000 bento meal boxes to the homeless and needy in Hong Kong.

Everyday Project Dignity distributes bento meal boxes at our location in Mongkok. In addition, other needy and single seniors served by Yaumatei Church, Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate and Grassroot Future also receive our support regularly.

It costs as little as $50 to make a donation for a bento meal box.

This will go a long way to ensuring that the less fortunate in our community at least have a decent meal in this difficult pandemic.

Community Outreach & Engagement

Financial contributions and donations are balanced by committed and caring people who organize and participate in our programs. We encourage companies to support CSR programs by involving their staff as well. Besides sponsorship of activities, Project Dignity Hong Kong has communal areas on site to hold from 10 to 40 participants. We have organized healthy lifestyle cooking classes for the underprivileged, corporate team building events, community interaction etc.

Our team is always ready to help you plan your next CSR program for your company and staff.

Who are we?

A social enterprise that began more than 10 years ago in Singapore and expanded to Hong Kong in 2019. Our mission is to return DIGNITY to the disabled and disadvantaged in our society. This includes both physical and intellectual challenged from different social backgrounds and age groups

Through the generous support of the Hong Kong Government and URA, Project Dignity was provided a prime location in Mongkok to open Dignity Kitchen, a food centre serving popular Singapore Hawker food.

This is operated entirely by our disabled and disadvantaged beneficiaries.

We have been listed in Asia’s Top 50 Best Restaurants 2021, a testimony to the high standard of culinary skills of our Differently Abled Chefs!
